Hi, I've got a used copy of NWN. $20 good deal. OK.

Than I emerged the game (with nowin nocd flags) and started it up. It took me to the CD-Key screen, and I enetered my key, pressed OK, and than it just cleared the fields. That's it -- no error message no nothing. I tried a bogus CD-Key and got a 'invalid key' message. So the game does see that this is a used key, yet does nothing about it... any suggestions? Could the fact that it is a used copy (hance key can be in their DB) be a factor?

thanks,
Victor

Afaik it doesn't go out onto the net to search a db. I've installed the game without an internet connection before although I used a legit key. :) You know, for $5 more you might have been able to get the game and all the expansions depending on where you live. :)

Hi,

I've got the same error. But I did not have the write access to the NWN folder in /opt. Make sure you are in the right group and the group has write access.

To play online though you have to use your key to register an account, which is why I didn't get a used copy.

I've always had to enter my Serial twice to get it to go through, and I use the platinum edition. Try entering it twice in a row.

I wasn't saying anything about a used copy. Talking only retail. :) Glad the OP got it working though. Permission problems are a pain.

Make a backup of nwncdkey.ini and the next time you should (re)install nwn, put it back in the nwn-folder. Saves some pain :)
