I'm using an iBook G3 with an Airport original wifi card.

Any time I use a hotspot scanning program, they fail to find any networks, and post something similar to this on the console:

Code:
==>stderr: eth1      Interface doesn't support scanning : Operation not supported

What should I do to fix this?

Thanks! :-)

Code:
emerge orinoco && ifconfig eth1 down && modprobe -r airport && modprobe airport

will emerge an airport module that has the extra scanning functionality built-in, shut down your network interface, remove the old module and start the new module.
