Hey... you know the X icon that shows up in the taskbar and the titlebar of non-kde apps? How do you change that icon?

I have added the entries of non-kde apps (glimmer, Eterm) to the kmenu and given them an icon, but that icon does not replace the X.

Thanks,

synic

Maybe the app itself replaces the Icon :?: Try starting the app, and look at the icon in the task bar, and notice if it changes later.

Maybe you can set the app icon with ~/.Xdefaults property :?:

Ok, I figured out how to change this if anyone wants to know.

There are two ways:

1. If the application is a non-kde app and you want to set a specific icon for it, you can put an icon entry in /usr/share/pixmaps. For example, if the application is executed by typing "glimmer" at the command line (or from an icon in the kmenu) put an image called glimmer.png in /usr/share/pixmaps.

2. To change the X icon globally, copy over the xapp.png icon located in your icon theme directory (ie. /usr/kde/3.1/share/icons/crystalsvg/32x32/xapp.png)
