I did emerge --sync today, and did a emerge -tvuD world to see what I need to update. Some interesting stuff I saw, I must say.
Code: | emerge -tvuD world
>>> --tree implies --pretend... adding --pretend to options.
These are the packages that I would merge, in reverse order:
Calculating world dependencies ...done!

ehhh, so why does it want to install gnome-icon-themes and gnome-themes? They aren't dependencies for anything I have installed (I have kde). From the tree, they don't look like dependencies.

As you can see, I don't have gnome flag enabled. Ideas? Other people having the same problem? |

Do an emerge --newuse --ask --deep world, and get everything to adhere to your USE flags first. This is important whenever you mess with them. I think it's trying to pull in the gtk stuff because of gstreamer (it's enabled for amarok). Trying it with:
Code: | USE="-*" emerge -tuvD world |
will immediately identify if it's your USE flags or not. _________________ Adopt an unanswered post

Ah hah! So it was a use flag problem, specifically, eds. The only curious thing is, it wasn't there before. Same goes for gstreamer. I never put them in my make.conf, so the only thing I can think of is the default use flags changed. I do wish we can like, get notified about such things..... |

Yeah, the default use flag set gets changed every once in a while. Just gotta remember to do emerge --verbose, and check for the green lettering and the asterix. _________________ Adopt an unanswered post
