Silly question, but is the j2sdk-1.4.1-01-linux-i586-gcc3.2.bin file corrupt? I've tried numerous downloads, resyncing portage, and recomputing the message digest, and all I get is either "j2sdk..... has an invalid md5 sum" or when I try to recompute the digest, I get bzip2 broken pipe errors. Thanks for the help.

i had the same problem.

i fixed it by editing the ebuild and changing the src uri for the x86 version from the uk site, to a site in the netherlands:

ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/java/jdk/JDK-1.4.1/i386/01/j2re-1.4.1-01-linux-i586-gcc3.2.bin

this and other mirror sites are listed at http://www.blackdown.org

perhaps the .bin file at the UK site is corrupt?
