gcc -march=k6 -O3 -pipe -Wall -c cap_extint.c -o cap_extint.o
gcc -march=k6 -O3 -pipe -Wall -c cap_flag.c -o cap_flag.o
gcc -march=k6 -O3 -pipe -Wall -c cap_text.c -o cap_text.o
gcc -march=k6 -O3 -pipe -Wall -c cap_sys.c -o cap_sys.o

Would it be better to put it in gentoo bugzilla or proftpd bugzilla? /me thinks proftp as i was able to reproduce the prob independently of portage(making in directory where emerge failed). If you care, I filed it here.
