I just installed rc2. After configuring everything and rebooting, I did an "emerge xfree". The process stopped after complaining about the savage driver and no unzip command. I did an "emerge unzip", and then tried "emerge xfree" again. It worked. The last time I emerged xfree was on an rc1 box, and it didn't have any problem like this.
I know exactly ZERO about ebuild scripting, so I'm passing this along to someone who does.

Just ran into the exact same thing and took the exact same action to solve it. I noticed that emerge -p kde showed that unzip would be emerged but I guess emerging just xfree does not. I think that the Savage driver is the only .zip file in the ebuild. Is this worth a bug report?
