So, I just upgraded my kernel (2.6.11-r3 --> 2.6.12-r4) and made all the usual adjustments that you need to make after a kernel upgrade. The only thing I cannot figure out is why the OpenOffice apps look all goofy now. All the toolbar icons are showing up as little black boxes, rather than the usual pictures. I tried re-merging OpenOffice, but it didn't help.
Anyone seen this issue before? Where should I start troubleshooting?

Thanks for the links! The problem described there is the exact same one I am having.
So, the question now is, (1) how do I downgrade to the older r1 package of xorg-x11? Never done that before. And (2) what kind of statement should I put in my /etc/portage/package.keywords file to keep from emerging the r2 version next time I do an 'emerge world'?
