Hey guys!
FYI, I've done gentoo installs half a dozen times in the past, and this is my first real problem. When I try to do "emerge -e world" things don't go so well. I get an error similar to the one below.
Code: |
configure: error: Autoconf 2.58 or better is required.
Please make sure it is installed and in your PATH.
!!! Please attach the config.log to your bug report:
!!! /var/tmp/portage/automake-1.8.5-r3/work/automake-1.8.5/config.log

(This actually occurs on libgpg-error, however rather than running emerge -e system and trying to get there again, I figured I'd force it.)
Now I'd like to say, it look like a dependancy out of order or something. So I manually emerged Autoconf (v2.59). Even after manually emerging autoconf (which appears to be a dependacy of libgpg-error, but isn't in the emerge -pe system list untill after libgpg-error) things failed.
I saw mention of things dealing with the nls "use" flag so I disabled nls, still no go. Any ideas?

I'm testing this right now. This appears to be the right thing to do. Thanks |
