So I've been waiting for 2.6.12 to be deemed "stable" to give it a shot.
So here it is. I gave it a shot.
Results: BLAH.
Method:
Brought old config from 2.6.11 over to 2.6.12, used make oldconfig, followed by make menuconfig to verify settings. make -j2 && make image modules_install.
The kernel dies when Shorewall starts up. With preemption enabled, it dies quietly. With preemption disabled, I get:
Code: | Kernel panic - not syncing: Aiee, killing interrupt handler! |
The syslogs look similar -- 2.6.10, 2.6.11, 2.6.12. 2.6.12's syslog just .. stops. Nothing interesting as far as I can tell.
There are a billion probabilities as to what's going on here. I use 2.6 kernels exclusively on my box, because all 2.4 kernels b0rk with my usb controller.
Machine:
Ultra 60
2x450
So the point: has there been success with this kernel on sparc? Post .configs.
