|
|
I sucessfully installed planeshift via the binary installer(I had several problems with emerge, because in 64bit version it just does not work). But on startup I get a message warning me, that it is only running with indirect rendering.
Humm...
I reconfigured my kernel and installed the newest ATI-Drivers.
glxinfo | grep direct gives me, that direct rendering is on.
But the game still gives the same warning and I still have to play with under 2.0 fps...
Any ideas? |

Posted an answer in the other thread.
Quote: | I assume that you're using a wrapper script for the game? (like /usr/games/bin/planeshift)
Edit this file and add the line:
export LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH=/usr/lib32/modules/dri
Then save and run it. It should make your fps normal |

There was no script installed by the planeshift-installer but one left by the not yet unemerged 64bit-version which doesn't work.
I edited it to my needs and it just works fine. Thank you VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!
If you need help in programming sth. or sth in this direction just ask me: 323958280
That method worked, too to get the ut2004-demo running(lib64 instead of lib32 )...
[edit]
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL... I needed such a long time so that it works now.. The fps differ very much depending on where I am... But it now just interrupted about 4 times... There is no real reason it just crashes...
Is it just still a bit unstable or is there a solution? |

It's not you, it's due to recent server changes I think. It's being looked at. |

Try running the updater again. We published some new art files on their which might fix your problems. |

All right, the crashes stopped! I did not even have to update....
But I have another little question:
How do I set LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH so that it contains the value after every reboot without need to type it in over and over again?
I read several times, that I had to add variables to the .bashrc-file...
But where is it? And what exactly do I have to write in there? |

If you use nano:
'nano -w ~/.bashrc'
Then at the bottom of the file add the line:
export LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH=/usr/lib32/modules/dri
Save and exit |
