Hi guys. It looks as I finally managed to modify an ebuild  . When I saw Kopete 0.6 was out, I took the existing kopete-0.5-1.ebuild and modified it to fit 0.6 . Here it is. Call it kopete-0.6.ebuild and put in /usr/portage/net-im/kopete/ .

Go to https://bugs.gentoo.org, and post your new ebuild as a bug. Anyway, congratulations on your first ebuild modification; I'm looking forward to getting to that poitn myself.

Seems like somebody already has added a new ebuild there, so I didn't submit mine. Although he forgot to change some things like adding .0 after ${P} so I wonder if it really finds the file on the server. My ebuild works nice so they probably should swap them??

| The ebuild is working fine, but kopete 0.6 keeps crashing after 10 minutes or so. I'm using Gentoo 1.4 RC2 + KDE 3.1. |

As piranha mentioned above, kopete builds nice but is damn unstable. Crashes all the time. In fact, my about-box says Kopete 0.5.8-cvs-20030130, and not 0.6.0. Might be something with that Belgium sever my ebuild uses. I'll try to change that and see what happens....

Kopete .6 is working fine for me, haven't had a single problem with it.

Yeah, we'll see, I made some changes and reemerging it again.
But maybe kopete team just grabed current cvs and called it 0.6 to celebrate their first birthday?
BTW, what does your about box say, Malakin? 0.5.8-cvs or 0.6.0 ??

Yesterday Kopete 0.6.1 has been released. This seems to fix the crash problem. Today a new version 0.6.1a has been released to fix an AIM problem, but this seems to work for me.
If anyone wants my ebuild script, just ask. |
