...& if not, does anyone feel like contributing something to 'Documentation, tips & tricks'? I don't consider myself to be stupid, but i do seem to have a blind-spot when it comes to posting queries that have already been answered elsewhere, & being told this in less-than-gentle terms is mildly humiliating.
There's an entire book on the subject for Google, 'Google Hacks', from O'Reilly Press, & it seems to me that there must be ways to find what i'm looking for on these forums without wading through a couple of hundred threads that might very well be only vaguely related to my search-string.
Any guidance will be HUGELY appreciated...

Thanks very much! I'll have a more exhaustive read later - i already knew about 'AND', but never seemed to have any note-worthy success with it. Hopefully, there'll be other advice in there, too...
I'm not gonna mark this thread as 'SOLVED' just yet - i'd like to see if anyone has any other contributions...

I'm gonna mark this thread as 'SOLVED' now, as there don't seem to be any more suggestions forthcoming...
Thanks very much to Earthwings & tomk for the links - my searches have certainly improved since switching to the 'search-page', as opposed to using 'Quick Search', plus the inclusion of lots of 'AND's (just to be on the safe side)
