I have avatars for select people on various chat mediums. They tell me the status. The black and white are Offline, The color, but eyes closed are Away, the others are Online :)

Edit: I can't believe nobody has flamed my 3 line prompt :D Thx!

Well here's my laptop (you can get the 10-minute Batman Begin's trailer here).

I stole ktm's wallpaper from last month and used my desktop's fbpager/torsmo setup, as I liked it so much.

I'll add my Linux desktop in a bit as I'm working in Windows right now.

The picture in mplayer looks like a bad copy paste job. It totally looks unreallistic.

Made the avatars (3 for each contact), made a widget for superkaramba that uses the avatars. Have a bash script that queries koptete via dcop to getthe contact status and copies the appropriate avatar to the folder where the widget looks for them.

Code:

#!/bin/bash
#Image change script

basefolder=/home/kris/spchat
status="dcop kopete default contactsStatus"

#start with all offline
cp -f $basefolder/offline/* $basefolder

#main loop (if kopete is running)

while [ `dcop |grep -c kopete` != 0 ]

do

statuslist="`$status`"

while read contact
do
if
[ `echo $statuslist |grep -c "$contact (Online)"` != 0 ]
then cp -f $basefolder/online/"$contact"* $basefolder

elif
[ `echo $statuslist |grep -c "$contact (Away)"` != 0 ]
then cp -f $basefolder/away/"$contact"* $basefolder

elif
[ `echo $statuslist |grep -c "$contact (Offline)"` != 0 ]
then cp -f $basefolder/offline/"$contact"* $basefolder
fi

done < $basefolder/contacts.txt

sleep 30;

done

Since I'm on a roll, I might as well post one. Just got into the e17 fad. Evidence has some cool eye candy.

I was going to post a screenshot this month, but my fresh box isn't anywhere near where I had hoped it would be. Just a background and two Firefox windows on the Openbox default theme isn't very interesting. :P Maybe in a week or so.

Good god. FVWM is nuts cool. :) Though, it's a pain to setup, especially for thsoe kind of results I hear. I use xfce. Pretty usable from the get go, sorta like kde, but gtk+ instead. L really like that. :D

Here's mine. :) Simple, usable, and well, nice.

Clicky!
