This has to do with a whole hoo-haw over how the kernel should handle cdrecording, that I don't know much about. This cleared up for me with a kernel change at some point, so it may be that it's all been resolved, and you just need to update your kernel. Basically, the output warns you about using a 2.6 kernel, and it is complaining becuase the cdrecord command is not being run with root privileges. You can run crdrecord from the command line with root privileges to get around the problem. I ended up not favording cdrecord for one reason or another, and opted for cdrdao, which I like a lot, and which never required me to run as root. The man pages for these will help you with their use.
