I just upgraded from dvdrip-0.52.3-r1 to dvdrip-0.52.5 and am experiencing the same thing.
On startup I get this:
| Code: | # dvdrip
sh: error while loading shared libraries: libdl.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
|
I downgraded to the stable version, 0.52.0, and everything seems fine. My previous 0.52.3-r1 also still works.

Or just set the 'preferences -> Miscellaneous Options -> Workaround transcode NPTL bugs' to 'No'
Fixed that problem straight away for me
