just emerged kaffeine 0.6-r1.
xine-lib 1.0-r2 and xine-ui 0.99.3 are there too.
when i start kaffeine it reports the following message: Loading of player part '' failed.
there is no player engine or dvb setup. what went wrong? it plays nothing. seems it can't find the xine plugins/engine. there was no error while compiling.

Is alsasound running? Does sound work otherwise? Are you running arts?

solved it myself:
i found that i was missing kaffeine.desktop and kaffeine_part.desktop from my kde dirs. i copied both files from /usr/share/applications and /usr/share/services respectively, and pasted them to /usr/kde/3.4/share/applications and /usr/kde/3.4/share/services.
works great now. |

Coldfinger, i've just a little problem : no kaffeine.desktop in my /usr/share/applications !
would you know where i can find this file on the web ?

Thankyou , My dvb was shadowed out until i followed your command.
All I did was try another engine then i could never get it back to xine? |
