I'm starting my windows manager using /etc/X11/Xsession/fluxbox
so I modified the file to be.
#!/bin/sh
/usr/bin/fluxbox
gkrellm &
gaim &
When I start gkrellm and gaim do not load. If i take out the &'s it will appear that they are not there until I exit fluxbox, then I will be let with a screen with gkrellm and gaim. Using kde and blackbox as my window manager exhbits the same behavoir.

I really don't know, just a wild guess here...
Try putting "gkrellm &" and "gaim &" before fluxbox...
Maybe it works... Again, it's just a feeling... Probably wrong (I don't even use Fluxbox, I use Sawfish).

Yep sena is right, you have to put the program before the window manager. And if you want gkrellm to open in the slit, then make sure you give it the -w option. |
