Yesterday I was emerging Lyx and my machine crashed (black screen).
Now i can make an emerge rsync, but if I try to emerge any package emerge gets stuck on the following process:

3524 pts/0 R 2:12 sandbox /usr/sbin/ebuild.sh clean

This process seems to be in infinite loop and keeps gobbling resources until i hit Ctrl-C.

I think that the crash may have left some garbage uncleaned but i don't know how to fix it.

If someone can help me I would appreciate...

Thanks

Just trying something here:
Could you do ls -l /usr/sbin/ebuild.sh
Is the ebuild still symlinked to the right file?
Does /usr/lib/portage/bin/ebuild.sh still exist?

Yes, ebuild.sh still exists and the symlink is ok.
But something weird happened a short while ago:

The probem I described doesn't happen anymore but emerge still doesn't work...
Code:

linux bin # emerge --debug cvs
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge dev-util/cvs-1.11-r1 to /
!!! emerge aborting on  /usr/portage/dev-util/cvs/cvs-1.11-r1.ebuild .
