Heres the situation. I have 3 433 Celeron's with 192 ram with 7 gig HD's My initial plan was to install stage 1 on all of them with the openmosix kernel (I'm being brave with the 2.6.x kernel) but realized that would take forever. My second idea was to just install on one, and then clone the drive to the other ones. Then I decided to just install on one and then set up the other two as diskless nodes.

I then realized that I would have a three extra drives (I have one spare). After reading that openmosix diskless clusters need lots of swap, I got thinking is there a way to use the spare drives as swap/temp/cache on the slave machines?

Right now the master is bootstrapping. The way I have it set up is 100mb for /boot, 4gigs for swap, and the rest (2.5-3gigs) for /. I also have another drive in there that I was going to use as /diskless.

What are your guy's ideas on how I should pursue this? I'm pretty new to gentoo (not linux though) and definitely new to openmosix. Just a college kid that has been graced with 3 computers that spends too much time messing around with computers and not studying enough.

Use a bootable cd from the list on the openmosix website.
