hey, I get this error message in the middle of emerging gcc-3.4.3

gcc-config error: Could not get compiler binary path: No such file or directory

it's on an amd 64 laptop I have....it's a pain in the ass as this error is preventing me from doing many things....any help would be greatly appreciated

ok, I edited /etc/ld.so.conf ....hopefully changing the path in there will work
