Trying to get the ZSMC webcam to work in 2.6 vanilla sources kernel, modularlised.
I've emerge'd spca50x drivers (and even tried the download of the xx drivers and extracted the tarball). Also tried the zc030x drivers too.
It's listed as a M6XXX-HZ-VGA driver in Windows but works as a ZSMC webcam.
This is the error I get
dmsg

spca50x: Unknown symbol video_register_device
spca50x: Unknown symbol video_usercopy
spca50x: Unknown symbol video_device_release
modprobe spca50x
FATAL: Error inserting spca50x (/lib/modules/2.6.11.7/usb/video/spca50x.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
lsmod doesnt show the module is loaded.

Perhaps I should just replace it with a Logitech webcam - seems to be better drivers available.
