I have been looking for a REAL + FREE webhosting server.
I have always thought that i would one day buy my own domain and webspace but the problem is that inorder to get some money i need to work on projects on rentacoder.com (slave labour for coders) Mean while inorder to attract customers i need to learn more programming and make a sample website of my projects etc.
Short : i need some reliabale + free + php + mysql webhost
i really dont like posting in forums for no reason as many of the free webhosts require 50+ postst a month.(personlly i think its so lame)
if you know a free host let me know ..if u can lend me some space for say 3 months it would be sweet
and mods i am asking for a suggestion ..so dont come running when ppl suggest and u call it advertising

If you don't mind the fact that it sometimes gets really slow, 50Free is quite nice. I was using them before I started using the paid hosting which i'm using now. _________________ ~~ Peter: Brony, GNU/Linux geek, caffeine addict, and Free Software advocate.

Hm...
Solution 1: ask your friends who have broadband and whose ISP doesn't block port 80 (i.e. not Verizon).
Solution 2: build a machine out of junk ($200 is more than enough money), put linux on it, and forward ports 80 and 22 to it (no need to set up a full DMZ).
Solution 3: get a $5/month shared hosting, and use Google ads to recoup some of the costs (viable if you will be hosting popular content).
Solution 4: get a $5/month shared hosting, and pay $5/month. Your love for Linux is worth $5/month, right? |

Hi there,
Does anyone know of a hosting site that has a free hosting plan with over 100MB of space?
I also would like no ads, and PHP for message boards.
Any ideas?
Thanks! _________________ iMac G4 1GHz :: q6600 //2x 500GB//2GB RAM//8600GT//Gentoo :: MacBook Pro//2.53GHz |

We'll i host for free, I usually give out Unlimited space php, perl, cgi, asp, fronpage. Cpanel FC4 webmail etc etc..
For free the only drawback to that is that i host off my petty DSL line at home 512Kbs upload, And my server will currently be down for about a week due to me moving to another house.
I currently offer subdomain hosting under 3 domains.
bcstechusa.com - down
bcswireless.net - down
yourowndisaster.com -down
external dns servers. |

Video tape that toaster, and then slashdot that!

Also if you want free service. My buddy down the hall hosts some websites on his extra bandwidth. http://synced.org/sfn/ (If it sucks, don't say I didn't warn you) _________________ Mayhem G4 (Asus z71v) |

1gb, ftp, mysql w/phpmyadmin and no popups. It's romanian, and I don't know a bit of romanian but I still managed to sign up without a problem. Decent speed for a free host (30-60kb usually, I think; at home I've only got 256kbit so it's hard to tell for sure). _________________ O make me a mask! |
