Do to the somewhat overwhelming response of people trying to get their ebuilds to compile succesfully with gcc 3.1, I have created a GCC3 forum (in the Developement category). Hopefully this will prevent posts relating to gcc 3.1 and gcc 3.0.4 from saturating the other forums. The addition of the forum should make it easier for users to search for solutions, and easier for developers to spot the more common problems.
I've talked with several other moderators, and we have decided to disallow guest posting in all except four forums. It has become too common for guests to run to the forums and post their message without first searching the forums. This should make it just that much harder for guests to post, and perhaps in the process they will solve their problem before actually posting. Not to mention the countless other benefits to registering an account.
Guests can post in the following forums:
Comment, complain, suggest in Gentoo Forums. _________________ - Kyle Manna
