multimedia programming... any pointers?

Hi all,

Anybody got some good links to sites that cover multimedia programming?

I'm trying to build a little app to read stuff from my webcam in C, and could use a few pointers (not the * kind got enough of them in the code already ) to how to do certain stuff (I got the ioctl stuff working, I can read internal webcam settings, but now I want pictures )

Oh, very small webcam programs would be useful too, just browsing the code gives tons of idea's
