I just noticed that the time on all the posts was off by 1 hour...I guess the server is set on GMT which doesn't switch. I had my profile set to -5 GMT (eastern) but had to change it to -4 GMT to compensate for daylight savings.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or is it just me.

I'm in maryland, and that's GMT -5 (i'm pretty sure!)

All of the times for my posts are behind one hour. This is something I've just noticed lately, so is it possible that this system didn't adjust for Daylight savings? or is it just me?

Right, daylight savings doesn't get adjusted automatically, you have to adjust your timezone in the profile.

It's not an issue with the server on which the forums reside, but it's an issue with phpbb itself. Originally, the creators didn't want to have to deal with this so they based everything on GMT, which never changes. When you select a timezone in your profile, you'll see that you're setting a GMT offset. If you live in an area that observes Daylight Savings time (parts of the US) or some kind of "summer time" (parts of Europe), then you have to adjust your GMT offset manually in your profile. This is something that has been proposed to be changed in the next version of phpbb. In the meantime you'll have to fix your profile or move to Indiana, Arizona or some other place that doesn't observe daylight savings time.

(Large Sidenote: the Indiana State Senate has recently passed by a narrow margin a bill that could cause Indiana to start to follow Daylight Savings time. Arizona is said to be watching this legislation very closely and would likely follow suit if Indiana were to change. Indiana is inbetween Central time and Eastern time with Chicago literally right across the stateline on their northwestern border and Louisville/Cincinatti literally right across their southeastern border, so this debate isn't quite as idiotic as it sounds. [side-sidenote: Arizona is between the Pacific and Mountain timezones with Las Vegas near their border and following Pacific time.] Currently, the counties where residents would potentially have been forced to live in one timezone and work in another were allowed to follow the timezone that actually made sense to them while the rest of Indiana didn't follow any form of daylight savings time. Personally, I would like to see this bill fail in the Indiana State House of Representatives so that Indiana and Arizona would remain the last bastion of sanity in the United States that doesn't assume the sun should revolve around them.)
