Hi,
I'm using the cko patchset (http://kem.p.lodz.pl/~peter/cko/) and I never had any problem with it.
Yesterday, I upgraded to -cko4:
- emerged vanilla-sources-2.6.11
- applied the 2.6.11-cko4 patch
- configured the kernel the way I do usually
- made the initramfs_data.cpio.gz file with splash_geninitramfs -g /usr/src/linux/usr/initramfs_data.cpio.gz -r 1024x768 default
- built the bzImage and modules
- copied the new bzImage to /boot and updated grub
Result = no more splash screen.
Anybody have clues about it?
I enabled everything needed for this in the kernel. |

If your in grub.
Try changing the vesa setting. If its vesa-tng try plain old vesa.

Not related to your problem, but do you use swsusp2? For some reason it didn't work for me. Didn't find anything about it on google. Swsusp2 works fine on other kernel patches. _________________ Gnome:

Well, I tried everything, and it never worked. I got back with 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 and my boot splash screen is back there Thanks for the info.
BTW, I don't use swsusp2 . |

the reason why it didn't work is just because the latest fbsplash kernel patch needs the masked splashutils from portage _________________ Interested in E17? Get Enlightened by reading the user guide. |
