Before I completely re-install Gentoo on this server, does anybody know if a common PCI sound card would work in a Sunfire V100 server? I'm looking for a low-power server to act as a music client to pipe sound into a distribution unit and it's either use this spare server I have so build a Via EPIA server to do it.

That's a nice link. I feel dumb that I didn't find that one earlier. I think I have an old Ensoniq 1371 card kicking around here which seems like it may work based on the drivers. I may actually resurrect this old SunFire after all.

ens1371 works great, may actually add that it has some good quality output and the alsa drivers on sparc work top notch. _________________ Gustavo Zacarias
