Is there any standard system of logging where I can review who has connected to the system via ssh, and from what IP address? Can this also be used for scp connections?

Depends on the system log deamon I guess. In sysklogd I have the logs in
/var/log/access_log
| Code: | | #tail access_log -n 200 |
Shows the last 200 log lines.

And in metalog they are in /var/log/sshd/

hmm.. i suppose it would have helped to have the metalog daemon running...
