|
|
A few days ago I did an emerge -u world and I'm still trying to recover from it. Reinstalling my system hasn't helped - it appears that a GNOME package is badly broken. I get an error during an emerge of gnome-base/bonobo-1.0.19-r1 - is this just PPC or is it happening everywhere? Also, how do I get around this problem? I just want to get GNOME up and running again. |

Oh and before anyone asks, I can't report this via Bugzilla because I don't have a working email client (Bugzilla wants to send a confirmation message). |

I have gnome-base/bonobo-1.0.19-r1 installed on my ibook. I believe I've had it installed for a while too. I used to use ~ppc in my keywords but I have since taken it out and I've been selectively upgrading only packages which are not ~ppc but are newer than the ~ppc ones I had installed before. from using 'stat' on some of the packages I appear to have installed it on december 6.
there is a list of all the packages I have installed right now at

Okay, that wasn't very helpful...
Still cruising along with a crippled system (no graphical interface, no email client)... any suggestions for how I can FIX this?
I just want to use my Gentoo Linux system. I don't want to emerge bleeding edge or masked packages, I just want to "emerge gnome" and be able to start up in GNOME. This is what I was able to do until a week ago. |
