Myshaper script problems

I'm having some problems getting the myshaper script to work

This script needs Netfilter + iptables.
I used IMQ kernel script on gentoo source 2.4.20-r1, htb was already there.
I've enabled both HTB and IMQ in kernel, but there was an option missing (selecting IMQ target)
I've also enabled iptables filtering, iptables mangling, and a lot of other things (not sure if I needed them)

(btw, do I need to enable iptables in kernel? what options should I enable?)

than I got the latest iptables and iproute2 (portage) which should've contained both imq and htb.

problem w/ the iptables package is that it doesn't include the imq libs for some reason, I've got the 1.2.6a libs from the imq site, and I'm not sure if the libs were accepted w/ the 1.2.7a version.

Also I got the tc binary from htb site.


when I run it i get a lot of
RTNETLINK: invalid argument

what i did wrong?

EDIT: seems like also there is no imq device (Sigh) so wtf?
EDIT2: tc filter command gives RTNETLINK error, wtf again?
