|
|
Hi everyone!
I've installed on my athlon64 processor the gentoo 2005.0 for amd64; everything is ok but some 32bit programs, like macromedia flash or realplayer, can't start.
Flash does not compare in the plugin-list of firefox (about:plugins)... what I have to do?
With realplayer I have the following error:
Code: | $ realplay
/opt/RealPlayer/realplay.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
|
but I'm sure that that file exist...
Code: | $ ls /usr/lib64/libgdk-x11-2.0.so*
/usr/lib64/libgdk-x11-2.0.so -> libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.400.13
/usr/lib64/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 -> libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.400.13
/usr/lib64/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.400.13
|
So, what's wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Matteo |

Did you install all neccessaray emul-x86-libs?
Realplayer needs a lot of 32bit libs, located in /usr/lib32 or /lib32. |

Thanks... I've installed all emul-x86-libs and now it starts!!! Is this a portage bug? Why emerge doesn't install all required libraries as it do with all other packages?
I still have some problems with the flash player... any idea?

I'm almost sure you have read de handbook but I'll say this just in case...
if you have emerged mozilla-firefox ( compiling it ) you won't be able to load that 32-bit plugin, you have to emerge mozilla-firefox-bin instead, which is a 32-bit binary. You'll also have to emerge netscape-flash since it's not tracked as a dependency ( I think, I can remember ! ). |

Also there is an open source flash named glpflash. It is still not 100% but most stuff works. This can be installed with a compiled 64 firefox. |
