I've built all the modules for the mouse (i think) except usb-uhci because I don't know which option to enable at the kernel menuconfig stage.

Also when these modules (mousedev, hid, usbcore, input) are loaded using modprobe I can unplug and plug in my mouse and I get something like the following:
hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number2
...could not find an active driver for device ...

Is that related to the lack of usb-uhci?

Thanks

Yes. You need one of the USB host controller drivers.

Either UHCI or OHCI depending on what chipset you have... Most likely UHCI

BTW if you need help figuring out which one you need post what chipset your computer has (i.e. Via, Intel, SiS, Ali, etc, etc) and I'll help you out with which one you need.
