Just curious if anyone has considered adding fix_libtool_files.sh to the gcc ebuild after the merge is completed to fix all of the hardcoded references in files built with the previous version of gcc, because it seems like people are having an abundance of issues with bad refs to old libs (libstdc++ in particular as well as kde junk), etc.

That's an excellent idea. You should post an enhancement request for such matter at Gentoo's Bugzilla.

Done. Didn't think they did feature requests through bugzilla too. Hmmm...
