Hi,
Still can't believe it, but we have bootsplash working on PPC (currently is 'testing' profile)
www.bootsplash.de for custom boot screens.
I'm hoping to put this on the next livecd/dvd.

Will the next LiveCD actually have a kernel that installs on my hardware (G4 QuickSilver)?
The 2004.1 release is broken, I went from a perfectly good system to a broken, unbootable system after installing it. |

I just booted using the 2004.3 livecd. Where's the bootsplash? Do I need to manually enable it or something? _________________ <Arthur/> |

Mmh could anyone suggest how to config yaboot.conf to get bootsplash on ppc?
And mainly: we are speaking about the old bootsplash (until k-2.6. or fbsplash?
It's not the same thing!!!
There's someone using fbsplash on a NEWWORLD ppc (I have a g4 powerbook 1333)?
...if i find something interesting i'll report it here

With the help of https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-2304537.html I got the nice livecd-2005.0 theme from the x86 LiveCD working on my PPC. That is splashutils of course and you should make sure that you set your framebuffer to more than 8bpp. _________________ hacking is not a crime |
