This is my April Fools joke, a day late and a dollar short.

Well, I saw GeNToo and GentOS/2 and figured I had to at least suggest it. If I remember correctly BeOS is quite POSIX-compliant. Dunno about Zeta, though, which is the only modern version that, uh, runs (to the best of my knowledge).

Yeah. I'll shut up now.

That might even be possible seriously. It's too bad there's no multi-user support in the old BeOS though (which, incidentally, runs just fine on my system).

if the BeOS developer release that was from about 3 months ago is anything like Zeta, then yes its still its same former glory -- albeit revamped in many ways.

god if i could get my hands on an old BeBOX i would rule digital music (sheer brilliance with individual line ins/outs and 2 each of MIDI in/out -- if i could also run REASON on it i wouldnt leave my apartment!!!)
