It looks like the MBR on your original CDRW still had grub/lilo from the official 2004.2 cd. I would recommend completely eraseing the cdrw before burning anything else on it.

Maybe the software you use to burn is not fully erasing the CDRW.

Looks like I got happy too soon, it's not booting, when starting hotplugging, it can't load module aic79xx (using an ADAPTEC 19160 SCSI-adapter).

Can you please add this module in V1.3?

BTW As it didn't go futher, I don't know if it is already integrated, but can you please check, if the libata module for Sata Sil is included, as well as support for msdos filesystem and floppy support (I remember the love-livecd missing floppy support)?

Floppy support: ok
MSDOS support: ok
SCSI is completely supported as modules: so >> modprobe aic79xx
CONFIG_SCSI_SATA: y >> so libata is ok

Why?

@lxnay

I see, but strangely I can not get that far, as when starting hotplugging, it can't load module aic79xx and then the systems simply hangs... (also I can see the module in /lib/modules/2.6.9-rc-mm2, there has to be something wrong as hotplug can't load it, not sure about that).

Cryptographic options -> <M> MD5 digest algorithm
<M> SHA1 digest algorithm
<M> SHA256 digest algorithm
<M> SHA384 and SHA512 digest algorithms
<M> DES and Triple DES EDE cipher algorithms
<M> Blowfish cipher algorithm
<M> AES cipher algorithms (i586)

Code maturity level options --->
<*> Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers

Device Drivers ---> Generic Driver Options --->
<M> Hotplug firmware loading support

Device Drivers ---> Multi-device support (RAID and LVM) --->
<M> Device mapper support
<M> Crypt target support

Thank's, lxnay, the option nousb and nohotplug did it, but I run into more problems.

At first, there are no /dev/md* devices created, I had to do it with mknod manually. Then mdadm was not found, so I tried it with mkraid, but I only got the following error msg:
Code:
~ # mkraid
cannot determine md version: 6.

And finally my ssh connection was terminated, on the console output I could see the following:
Code:
eth0: Too much work at interrupt!
livecd NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
livecd eth0: TX Timeout
livecd eth0: no Rx buffer allocated
livecd eth0: no Rx buffer allocated
.
.
.
livecd eth0: Too much work at interrupt!

After that the system hang, and I had to do a hardreboot.

No idea what that is about. I am using a gigabit lan adapter with RTL8169S.

You seem to have compiled this module into the kernel, as it didn't get loaded during boot, also my network adapter was correctly initalized.

Either this is a kernel problem with 2.6.9-rc1-mm2, or something went wrong with the RTL8169 support.

Can you check this please?

RAID will work with upcoming 1.3 version
Ethernet drivers problems are solved in 1.3 by modularizing everything, so you'll have to modprobe it (if hotplug is disabled)

ora controllo...
