Hi,

I just got my Live! 5.1 to work with ALSA (0.9.0rc6). All my speakers work and are separately adjustable, but now the problem.

Master sets FL and FR, PCM sets RL and RR and center the center speaker. Don't I have a setting for the master volume anymore now? :?
I already put this in my modules.conf: options snd-emu10k1 extin=0x3cf3 extout=0x1fff. It didn't make any difference though.
Another strange thing is that with this driver I don't get a /dev/dsp anymore.

I haven't found a problem about that as for yet, but shouldn't it just be in my /dev? Maybe I did something wrong with alsa-oss compatiblity?

My /etc/modules.d/alsa:

# Alsa 0.9.X kernel modules' configuration file.
# $Header: /home/cvsroot/gentoo-x86/media-sound/alsa-driver/files/alsa-modules.conf-rc,v 1.1 2002/12/21 06:31:52 agenkin Exp $

# ALSA portion
alias char-major-116 snd
# OSS/Free portion
alias char-major-14 soundcore

alias snd-card-0 snd-emu10k1

alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0

alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss

alias /dev/mixer snd-mixer-oss
alias /dev/dsp snd-pcm-oss
alias /dev/midi snd-seq-oss

options snd cards_limit=1
options snd-emu10k1 extin=0x3fc3 extout=0x1fff

I've just tried the OSS driver and the one from opensource.creative.com. Both have got a master volume setting that works, but the center speaker isn't as adjustable (and some other things) as with the ALSA-driver. I do really want to stick with the ALSA-driver. I've been looking on the net for sollutions, but can't find any. It's pretty annoying, I want to be able to set the volume from GKrellM and XMMS. Now I have to set all 3 volumes separately.

Thanks for any help.
