hrmm...

CC sound/pci/ac97/ac97_codec.o

sound/pci/ac97/ac97_codec.c:1882: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast
CC sound/pci/ac97/ac97_pcm.o

Yes, its a warning, but it leads to...

LD .tmp_vmlinux1

I'm on amd64, and this gets pulled in because of the emu10k1 driver.

Is this like 2x better than 0.21 patch? I think the patch is this one: inotify-0.21-rml-2.6.12-rc1-1.patch, no?
Being picky 'cause us Beagle-cvs users get so much breakage with the changing versions...
[edit]: Oops, screwed up the version meself too. My point is still valid, I think.

Beagle doesnt work here too :[

is very easy to reverse this version and to apply another version of inotify if You want ;)

cheers.

I know, but I thought perhaps it wasn't only amd64 related (it doesn't look like it, based on the error, but I guess that doesnt mean anything).

new reiser4 + fix, fixed sk98lin , fix for ati users, Imago's fb fix ,bk alsa and jfs and XBOX patches :)
Code:

-2.6.12-rc1-love1 UPDATE 01--

* 2.6.12-rc1-love-reiser4-to-22032005-with-save-read-lock.diff //new r4 code
* reiser4-2.6.11-fix.patch //latest fix from namesys

* inter_module_get_fix //a fix for ATI users.
* bk-alsa from mm3
* bk-jfs from mm3
* 2.6.12-rc1-love1-xbox.bz2 //a XBOX patches from FireBurn

the new ebuild for updated love , the patch and info here --> http://vivid.dat.pl/fallow/pub/index.php?path=love-sources%2F2.6.12-rc1-love1%2Fupd01/

for the ATI USERS :
You required two things :
1) new ebuild for ati-drivers ->> http://vivid.dat.pl/fallow/pub/love-sources/2.6.12-rc1-love1/upd01/ati-ebuild-for-love.tar.bz2
2) and 2.6.12-rc1-love1 with UPDATE01
now on my box ati-driver is compiled ok , but I have only nvidia card so I cant do testing deeply.

Hi!

Only three things!

1. FbSplash works again - don't know why or how, but who cares :P
2. ATI-Drivers compiled and working fine - gotta play a little UT now
3. Fallow, you seriously ROCK

Thanks for that sweet easter present! Keep on the good work and make me LOVE my system!

cheers,
ph030

EDIT:
One thing comes to my mind:
If you could make it possible, to use all ACPI-Funktions on my notebook, you've got one wish free :)
It's a Toshiba Tecra S1 (unfortunately no real Toshiba-Bios), if you need some Info about it, please tell me so!
EDIT2:
Thanks for the PM, that's what I call user-service :lol:

All is well thanks to you fallow. Thanks much. :D I too appreciate the pm, very classy. :wink:

EDIT: I spoke too soon. I was able to install the ati-drivers, but I couldn't load them, I got this error:
Code:
[  394.222902] fglrx: Unknown symbol inter_module_get
fbsplash is still not working on my machine either, even though I'm using the latest hardmasked version. I'd like to upgrade to the latest love-sources, but I can't seem to get anything to work with it. I'm considering going back to 2.6.11-love2. :cry:

Have you seen my problem fallow? As far as fbsplash goes, it seems to load the image into ram, but beyond that dmesg reveals no answers:
Code:
[    0.001157] checking if image is initramfs... it is
[    0.017804] Freeing initrd memory: 248k freed

I can say , HAVE You regenerated initrd by the new splashutils ?

I forget do " # lilo " for example also ;) but now everything is ok

Yeah, I figure it's probably something I did wrong, although I have rebuilt the initrd with the latest version of splash utils. The ati-driver is a biggie though. Oh well, I think I'll downgrade to 2.6.11-love2. Its a good, stable kernel that works for me without much fuss. I guess I'll try again with the next love release. Thanks anyway fallow. :)

The errors are gone. I forgot to say in my earlier post that my splash didn't work as well, even with both updates applied to the kernel and a fresh initrd... I thought it was because of the acpi patch ( ACPI: No ACPI bus support for vesafb.0 ) but the problem remains even with the patch reversed. Oh well...

Running with update01 and the latest rr4 patch on my almost fully rr4 system :) No problems yet, although I am using Deadline for IO. All the genetic options for the cpu scheduler are enabled :P
