I'm looking for a good (i.e. reliable) Linux benchmarking package, similar to the sythetic benchmarking package Sisoft Sandra for Windows.

I do a lot of overclocking w/water cooling, run Gentoo, and would like to see some metrics on memory performance, cpu performance, video performance, etc... not necessarily "real-load" since I can do most of that with various scripts and such, but more of limits and comparisons to similar systems running Windows and other Linux distros, which is why I say "synthetic".

I have looked around a little at the Linux Bencharking project and some others, but have not been able to find many "testimonials" from REAL linux users.

Anyone have any thoughs/comments/suggestions?

Well i don't know much about benchmarking tools and websites, but you could pay http://www.tldp.org a visit. They got loads of documentation on several topics. Try the developer pages on the IBM website otherwise.
