Your Gainward LE may be locked at the hardware level, rather than just masked in the BIOS. If that's the case, then you're out of luck.

You only need the first address, so doing:

Code:
nvtuner 0xed000000

should work.

So i got myself a 6800xt which has 2 pixel units and 2 vertex units disabled.

In windows i can enable the first pixel unit and all vertex units. The second pixel unit seems to be FUBAR :(

Anyway, how could i unmask this in linux?

Code:
$ cat /proc/pci
 Bus  1, device   0, function  0:
VGA compatible controller: PCI device 10de:0048 (nVidia Corporation) (rev 161).
      IRQ 11.
      Master Capable.  Latency=248.  Min Gnt=5.Max Lat=1.
      Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xe8000000 [0xe8ffffff].
      Prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xe0000000 [0xe7ffffff].
      Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xe9000000 [0xe9ffffff].

Code:
# nvtuner 0xe8000000
The current pixel mask is: 0x11703

Code:
# nvtuner 0xe0000000
The current pixel mask is: 0xfdfdfd

Code:
# nvtuner 0xe9000000
The current pixel mask is: 0xe0e89350

Code:
$ nvclock -i -f

emerge nvclock, then:
Code:
/etc/init.d/xdm stop
rmmod nvidia
nvclock -f -P 1111
nvclock -f -V 111111
modprobe nvidia
/etc/init.d/xdm start

You will need to experiment, since the hardware may be disabled because it doesn't work.

"man nvclock" to see the docs.

Ok, so i gues this would unlock all my pipes and vertexes. But the last 4 pipes need to remain disabled. This would result in:

Code:

modprobe -r nvidia
nvclock -f -P 0111
nvclock -f -V 111111
modprobe nvidia
startx

to enable the first 3 pixel units and all the vertex units?

Tried it and it worked perfectly! Got myself a 6800NU (well, actually with one extra vertex). Now all i have to do is wait for my arctic vga silencer and i can start oc'ing it. Hopin' to reach GT speeds with this baby.

My card runs best with 900Mhz on the RAM. It seems finding good ram speeds makes all the difference with GeForce 6. Don't focus on core speed so much... ;)
