Hi all..
I cannot work with cdrecord..

these are the config:
kernel 2.4.28-sparc-r6
$ cdrecord --version
Cdrecord-Clone 2.01 (sparc64-unknown-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2004 Jörg Schilling
the kernel seems to be ok..
hdd: attached ide-cdrom driver.
hdd: ATAPI 40X CD-ROM CD-R/RW drive, 8192kB Cache, (U)DMA
Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.12
Partition check:
/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0: p1 p2 p3 p4
/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0: p3
SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
scsi0 : SCSI host adapter emulation for IDE ATAPI devices
but this is the result
root@sparc ~ # cdrecord -v dev=/dev/hdd blank=all

scsibus: -2 target: -2 lun: -2
Warning: Open by 'devname' is unintentional and not supported.
cdrecord: Read-only file system. Cannot open '/dev/hdd'. Cannot open SCSI driver.
cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'.
cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'.
root@sparc ~ # cdrecord dev=help

What's your kernel version? If it's 2.6.7+ (I believe... it might be 2.6.8+), don't use SCSI-IDE emulation since they fixed the lower level hardware access and burning works now without it.
Also, check your perms and make sure it's something like 0777 for /dev/hdd. |
