I currently have a monitor attached to an Ultra 60 via a creator video card. It is running at 1920x1080 and looks great. I want use the monitor on a intel box as well. The intel box has a Radeon 9250. For some reason, xorg didn't want to drive it at the same resolution until I put in a modeline that I generated using various tools.
Now the problem - ghosting. On the sparc, it is crystal clear. On the radeon it has ghosts at higher resolutions. I know it it not the cable, I am using the same one. The boxes are side by side, so I know there isn't interference that is affecting one and not the other. So my only guess is the the modeline I am feeding it is not the same as what is on the sparc.
Since the sparc is using whatever the /dev/fb is using, and that (from what I understand) is driven by the OBP I am at a loss as to how to reverse engineer the "good" modeline.
Any ideas? |
