Hi!
I wrote a new Tutorial for installing Gnome 3. I took information and doumentation from the Gnome overlay and put it together to a step by step howto.

It will upgrade your Gnome. There is no way to run both versions in different slots as fr as I now. |

Yep they use the same file names for multiple files so no side by side sadly. |

This line should preferably be added to the top such that it never overwrites make.conf settings.
With FEATURES="preserve-libs" we can use the new `emerge @preserved-rebuild`.
Please avoid referring to the old offline unofficial Gentoo Wiki, refer to wiki.gentoo.org instead;
in fact, feel free to add your tutorial there to benefit others, people will often look at the official wiki first. |
