2.6.11-love1 :)

" WE ARE THE BORG. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED. "

patchlist/info/everythins about it :

--In short--
Code:

*) CPU Scheduler : Nick`s Scheduler (Nick Piggin) with Genetic Alg. implementation port.
also default BASE_TIMESLICE selectable from menuconfig. Included multiprocessor fixes.

*) IO Scheduler(s) : switchable at runtime,default selectable from menuconfig or bootparams
   also anticipatotory io scheduler with genetic algor. implementation (Genetic Lib 0.4)
   and timesliced CFQ v2.

*) VM : Con`s MW3. with VM_MAPPED settigns selectable from menuconfig.

--full info--
Code:

[-base-]
love-menuc.diff - love menuconfig part.

  [*] Genetic Library

//Genetic Nicksched is my port of J.Moilanen Genetic Alg implementation in
//P.Williams Zaphod CPU Scheduler.IT`s based on Genetic Lib 0.4
//at now it`s BETTER to use default Genetic NickSched options.
//addition Genetic NickSched options are :
  [ ] [testing!] Genetic Bonus Calculation [not_reco/very_exp]
  [ ] [testing!] Rounding of Sched_BaseTimeslice [not_reco/very_exp]
//First is for activate additional genetic parameter in bonus calculations
//Can provides some interactivity loss of not :) -> dangerous :)
//Second for rounding of base_timeslice to range 4,8,16,32,64,128,256 only
//So, for a "little less" fluctuation range,If You will have a little less "genetics"
// /proc/mm is from SKAS patchsets from CKO
// SECCOMP : This kernel feature is useful for number crunching applications
//that may need to compute untrusted bytecode during their execution.
// via /proc/<pid>/seccomp,
//NickScheduler BASE_TIMESLICE selectable beetwenn 256,128,64,32
//VM_MAPPED selectable beetwen 95,66,33

I'm having some issues with the full loadout on my P4HT machine (some random lockups when I first tried it), but seems to be getting better (I both love and hate problems that fix themselves :P). Using the same config on my Pentium-m laptop and it's working fine there.

Works really fine here ;o)

About the MousePolling, check http://lkml.org/lkml/2005/2/7/142 , you juste have to add the parameter usbhid.mousepoll=n to your kernel commandline ;) (usbhid.mousepoll=2 here :))

Code:

title Gentoo 2.6.11-love1
root (hd0,0)
kernel (hd0,0)/vmlinuz-2.6.11-love1 root=/dev/hdd4 usbhid.mousepoll=2

Using this my mousepoll does not change. it always worked with the other kernel patch! =/

on P4 SMP/HT and P4 std, if I compile all "genetic support", when I unplugge a usb key, the system freeze with a message about genetic... reset solution only :cry:
I test it on 2.6.11-rc2-mmvivid2 and 2.6.11-rc5-love1: same problem...
but all work fine without genetic for me... thx for the job... :wink:

Great patchset!

Although I am a fanatic nitro user, I'll never lose interest in love. At the time I joined this forum, love was all there was (there are about 10 different patchsets now). It runs great! Feels a little slower then the last nitro though, but still MUCH MUCH better then vanilla. Thanks!

Just an update, been running without a lockup now for a day. Compiled stuff, etc etc, and I have all Genetic stuff enabled. The first time it locked up it was loading the i2c_i801 module, but haven't had an issue since.
