I'm a slackware user trying gentoo for the first time.
I have a HP pavilion ze4145 laptop with an AMD xp1800 processor I'm tyring to install gentoo on.
I downloaded the 1.4rc2 iso for XP processors and booted up.
I set idebus=66 (necessary for my slackware install).
it ran through, printed the following:
PCI: Using Configuration type 1
ACPI-0263: *** Info: GPE Block0 defined as GPE0 to GPE3
and then hung.
I rebooted, and added acpi=no to the boot option, and same thing.
I added noapic to that and the same thing.
It looks like it's ignoring the acpi=no. Is there a work around for this?
Help?
Thanks! |

I spent another 30 minutes or so reading other posts yesterday and came across that.
I forgot to post that I answered my own question )
Thanks for the reply, though!
It's too bad that the live disk says acpi=no since it doesn't work.... |
