I use a serial connection (cu -l cuaa0) to my hp c360. Trying to setup Gentoo hppa the followings happened: The computer which i had used to connect froze and i had to reboot, thinking that the hp would continue the bootstrap and that i could reconnect with "cu". Unfortunately no connection was established ( the "cu -l cuaao" had a "connected" output) and whether bootstrap continued and could not watch it, or stopped.
Q1) What do you think it happened?
Q2)I had posted about this matter and how could i understand if bootstrap finished OK-didn't get an answer unfortunately- (i had left the hp open, until i thought it had finished). Now i continued with "emerge system" hoping that everything would go OK.However the following message appeared. Does it have to do with the bootstrap problem? What can i do? Thanks a lot.

Emerge system cannot work, cause the bootstrap could'n't have finish successfully.

The reason : emerge was attched to "it's father" processus which was the connection. ps afx should help you ti understand.

The solution : screen!
