Hey,
I was playing around on my Ultra 2 and emerging some ~sparc items and it seems that I have blown up my gcc compiler.
The thing that I don't get is that it seemed to successfully compile but when I went to emerge sed I got the error
"The Configuration is not supported in the following subdirectories."
now I thought to unmerge gcc and re-emerge. What a brain fart that was.
How do I compile a compiler?
Better question besides rebuilding the entire system, how do I recover from this delema? |

Emerge GCC as a binary package, then emerge again once installed if you want a fully compiled system. That is essentially what you do when you install the system from stage 1. |

Bad boy!
Go http://dev.gentoo.org/~gustavoz/sparc/packages/ and fetch the relevant quickpkgs there, place them into /usr/portage/packages/All and emerge -k gcc binutils. _________________ Gustavo Zacarias
