|
|
I need some advice as to how to proceed.
I tried today to rebuild mesa from git, and it failed because /usr/include/X11/extensions/dri2proto.h was missing.
There is no ebuild that has this file, it's a new addition in xorg.
I put together an ebuild from x.org anon git for it, it was trivial.
How best to share this with the community, though? _________________ With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine (RFC 1925, apparently talking about Gentoo) |

You may want to try the x11 overlay (layman -a x11), there are some ebuilds using git versions of packages. |

If you're working on DRI2, you will need to build your X server from git as well. Trying to hack around that will only end in frustration and tears. _________________ Don't believe the "n00b" under my name. |

The x11 is built from git, using the layman x11 overlay, so I know dri2proto's not there!
My guess is it should be added to the x11 overlay, but who do I contact? I can't file a bug on bugs.gentoo.org (this is unsupported, after all!) _________________ With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine (RFC 1925, apparently talking about Gentoo) |

OK, I didn't know that. I used the x11 overlay some time ago for a while to check sthg, and everything had built fine.

I think it would be best if You asked on irc, say #gentoo or #gentoo-desktop. There people will tell You, where to ask. |
