how big is the odds that these will make their way into portage and what is the estimated time for this?

there is no rule than this:

If a user provides an ebuild for a game, it will appear much faster in portage.

Otherwise I cannot tell how long it takes for ebuilds to reach portage.

I made some ebuilds for "Creatures 3 Internet Edition" (includes "Creatures 3" and "Docking Station") a while ago.
They can be found at: http://www.vatikanet.net/~forbjok/stuff/ebuilds/

These are some of my first ebuilds, so don't be surprised if you find a bug

Note that the Docking Station ebuild is for the Creatures Internet Edition version of Docking Station, and not the download version (though they should be very similar), so a Creatures Internet Edition CD is required to install both Creatures 3 and DockingStation.
I will see if I can make an ebuild for the downloadable version also.

I have tested them, and last time I checked, they worked fine - if both are installed, docking station is able to detect and use the Creatures 3 data.
I tried using data files (not executables) from a Windows C3 CD with DockingStation also, but couldn't get it to work, so that may not be possible.

I'd recommend to submit a bug at Gentoo's Bugzilla. This will enhance the chances for them to get into portage.

A lot of native ports at http://icculus.org/~ravage:

Alteria
Devastation
Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition
Freespace: The Great War
Freespace: Silent Threat
Freespace 2
Kingpin: Life of Crime
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
Neverwinter Nights
Neverwinter Nights Gold Edition
Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark
Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide
Rise of The Triad: Dark War
Spatial Fear: Prologue
Soul Ride
Tactical Ops: Assault on Terror
Unreal: Return To Na Pali
Unreal Gold
Unreal Tournament 2003 Community Bonus Pack
Unreal Tournament 2003 Digital Extremes Bonus Pack
Unreal Tournament 2003 Epic Bonus Pack One

Would be cool to see Kingpin and Unreal Gold as ebuilds.

What about an ebuild for the Railroad Tycoon 2 port by Loki games?
I assume using the ebuild for Loki's Heroes of Might & magic ( games-strategy/heroes3-1.3.1a-r1 ) would be more then half way there :)

Same here. It tells me to check a log file and there is an error about a missing file that actually is there :?

I'm not at my gentoo box now, but i think these abstract shooters lack of ebuilds:
All are coded in D http://www.digitalmars.com/d/ , minus rRootage wich is in C++. I remember that Noiz2sa (coded in C++) has already an ebuild

Gunroar: http://www.emhsoft.net/gunroar/
rRootage: http://rrootage.sourceforge.net/
parsec47: http://parsec47.sourceforge.net/
Tukimi Fighters: http://tumiki.sourceforge.net/
a7xp47: http://a7xpg.sourceforge.net/

There's another nice one, Torus Trooper, that it's open source but hasn't been ported to linux yet :( :
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/windows/tt_e.html

The rest are open source linux ports, there's a D compiler for linux and gcc has also a frontend for D, so there should not be any problem with these ;-)
